  1.  INSTALLATION PROBLEMS ?
  2.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  3.   When you run INSTALL.EXE, the files 0159TER1._XE and
  4.   0159TER2._XE (and, optionally, other files 0159TER?._XE)
  5.   all need to be in the same directory.
  6.  
  7.   If you encounter any problems with our low level
  8.   installation routines (music, screen, etc,) then:
  9.  
  10.   1)   run     INSTALL.EXE /NOINTRO      instead...
  11.  
  12.   OR
  13.  
  14.   2)   Try rebooting with a `vanilla flavour'  CONFIG.SYS
  15.        and AUTOEXEC.BAT with no TSRs and making sure that
  16.        you specify at least Files=40
  17.  
  18.  
  19.   If INSTALL.EXE finished work, but you're having problems
  20.   starting TERM.EXE, then try to run TERM.EXE with appropriate
  21.   parameters:
  22.  
  23.          /NOEMS  - to disable EMS usage
  24.   and/or
  25.          /NOXMS  - to disable XMS usage
  26.   and/or
  27.          /FASTCONFIG[=port[,speed]] - to pass through all the
  28.                                       configuration questions
  29.                                       and configure Terminate
  30.                                       manually (by setting the
  31.                                       port, bps, etc, etc)
  32.  
  33.   or run T.BAT ? for available command-line switches.

  36.  MEMORY REQUIREMENTS
  37.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  38.  Terminate needs at least 550k of free memory to run.
  39.  ( 2MB extended or expanded memory highly recommended )

  42.  MOUSE PROBLEMS ?

  44.  Try toggling PECULIAR MOUSE in
  45.  CHANGE CONFIGURATION/TOGGLES/PECULIAR MOUSE
  46.  ( [ALT][O], [T], toggle Peculiar mouse on/off )

  49.  PROBLEMS IN MULTITASKING ENVIRONMENTS
  50.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  51.  Absence of an adequate FIFO Chip (eg: 16550 UART) may cause
  52.  problems with data loss (refer to further technical
  53.  documentation...)
  54.  
  55.  If you experience Screen corruption or data loss even with an
  56.  adequate FIFO, then try using FOSSIL (such as Ray Gwinn's SIO
  57.  for OS/2 Warp) or increase the VDM session priority.
  58.  
  59.  Unexpected CARRIER DROP - try to increase session priority or
  60.  try to use a FOSSIL driver instead of direct COM port access.

  63.  DATA LOSS PROBLEMS UNDER DOS
  64.  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  65.  Problems may also occur when running Terminate on 'slow'
  66.  computers or if the Terminate overlay file is not able to be
  67.  loaded into EMS or XMS.
  68.  These problems relate to Terminate's internal 'multitasking'
  69.  kernel and are similar to problems in a multitasking environment.

  71.  Our suggestions are:
  72.   1. Do not open windows other than the terminal window before and
  73.      during file transfers
  74.   2. Try to increase the input buffer size in Communication setup,
  75.   Receive Buffer Size: [Alt][O], [C], select device, [Enter], [R]
  76.   3. Try to decrease Baudrate:
  77.   [Alt][O], [C], select device, [Enter], [B]
